Crochet Double Sided Cowl

Materials 

• 2 Different Colors of acrylic/wool/mohair yarn
• Size H/8/5mm crochet hook or 
  size needed to obtain gauge
•  Tapestry needle
•  Stitch marker

Pattern Note :

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Chain-5 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet and chain-2 unless otherwise  stated.

Stitches used 

Fan: ({Dc, ch 1} twice, dc) in indicated st.

Picot: Sc, ch 3, sl st in first ch of ch-3.

PATTERN

First Half

Rnd 1 (RS): With grey, ch 96, using care not to twist ch, join  (see Pattern Notes) to form a ring, ch 1, sc in same ch as beg ch-1, sk 2 chs, fan (see Special  Stitches) in next ch, sk next 2 chs, [sc in next ch, sk next 2 chs,fan in next ch, sk next 2 chs] 15 times, join in beg sc, do not turn. Place stitch marker in base of first sc of rnd. (16  fans, 16 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 5 (see Pattern Notes), sc in center dc of fan, ch 2, [dc in next sc, ch 2, sc in center dc of fan, ch 2] 15 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-5, do not turn.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as beg ch-1, fan in next sc, [sc in next dc, fan in next sc] 15 times,

join in beg sc, do not turn.

Rnds 4–13: [Rep rnds 2 and 3 alternately] 5 times. At the end of last rep, turn.

Rnd 14: Ch 1, [2 sc in next dc, sc in next ch] twice, 2 sc in next dc, sc in next sc, picot (see Special Stitches) in next sc] 16 times, join in beg sc. Fasten off.

Second Half 

Note: Rnd 1 of 2nd Half mirrors rnd 1 of First Half.

Rnd 1: With RS facing, working in opposite side of foundation ch of First Half, join onyx in same ch as stitch marker, ch 1, sc in same ch, sk 2 chs, fan in next ch, sk next 2 chs, [sc in next ch, sk next 2 chs, fan in next ch, sk next 2 chs] 15 times, join in beg sc, do not turn. Remove marker. (16 fans, 16 sc)

Rnds 2–14: Rep rnds 2–14 of First Half.

Finishing 

Block to 14 inches wide x 15 inches long, allowing scalloped edges of rnd 14 to flair out slightly.

Fold along color change at foundation ch so First Half grey is on 1 side and 2nd Half onyx is on 

the other
